WHAT TO PACK
First and foremost, when you go camping, do not forget the poles! This has happened twice to us.  And while it is rather hysterical, it can cause cramped sleeping situations or last minute runs to find a store in a strange city.

Depending on if you are camping straight out of your car (pull everything out and camp) or are backwoods camping (have to hike several miles to get to a campsite), your packing needs are going to be different. The Roadtrip Divas usually car camp.  Items we typically bring:

Personal
Clothes for warm and cold weather.  Nights can get cool.
Toiletries
Tennis shoes/hiking shoes, good pair of sandals (for shower and to slip on as needed).
Extra towels
Sleeping bag, pillow (or just use a jacket)  Some divas don't like to share when you forget a pillow (Lea), so be forewarned!
Baby wipes--good for wiping down nasty toilet seats, using as toilet paper, or whatever.

The Camping Gear:
For the official camp checklist, click here.

To organize our gear and have it easily available we use rubbermaid bins.  We were using crates but have since upgraded to 3 plastic bins with lids. One for cooking stuff, one for suntan lotion, extentsion cords, bug spray, heat stuff, etc. and another one for hammocks, sleeping bags and beds. When we are done camping the bins our stored in the shed right next to our tents.  That way everything is easily accessible and ready for the next trip.

Games Divas Play
We LOVE to play board games and card games when we go camping.  These are some of our favorites:
UNO
Scrabble (better bring a dictionary, Divas like to make up words)
Connect Four
Survivor Card Game--The game itself sucks, but when you are camping it is quite humorous to vote Divas "off the campsite."

TIPS FOR PICKING A CAMP SITE
When you are going camping the best thing to do is to get an RV site--whether you have an RV or not.  We camp out of tents but like the RV sites because they provide water and electricity hookups.  Not to mention the spaces are at least twice the size of a regular tent spot.

To get a little bit of privacy ask for a back-in RV site, you do NOT want a drive through spot--those are typically right in the middle with cars driving on both sides of your site.

How to Organize your Backpack
I found this image on a site that was selling backpacks, figured it might be helpful.  Wish I would have known this when we went to Cumberland Island, I think I packed my bag backwards!
